  • MAX Transit Launches New Mobile App with Community Celebration at Central Station

MAX Transit invites the community to celebrate the launch of its new mobile app, MAX Connect, at a public launch event on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Central Station.

Co-hosted by community leader Art Franklin and MAX Transit Marketing and Communications Director Amanda Hare, the event will bring together riders, partners, and local organizations for a dynamic celebration centered on connection, convenience, and community.

The launch celebration will feature:

  • Food offerings from 1918 Catering and Jolly Cakes, with free hot dogs available for the first 50 attendees

  • Live music from a DJ

  • Complimentary popcorn and beverages courtesy of Coca-Cola Bottling Company United

  • Community vendors and partner organizations, including the League of Women Voters and GO BHM

  • Opportunities to connect with MAX Transit’s HR team about current and upcoming job openings

  • Attendance from city leaders in support of innovation in public transportation

The introduction of MAX Connect represents a major step forward in enhancing the rider experience, making it easier than ever to plan, track, and pay for trips across Jefferson County.
“This launch is more than just technology, it’s about expanding access to opportunity and strengthening how our community moves,” said MAX Transit Executive Director and CEO Charlotte Shaw. “We’re proud to celebrate this milestone with the people we serve every day.”

The MAX Connect Launch Party is free and open to the public. Community members are encouraged to attend, enjoy the festivities, and be among the first to experience the future of transit in Birmingham.
