BJCTA MAX Transit Announces New Members of Board of Directors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA) is pleased to announce the appointment of new members to its Board of Directors, strengthening regional leadership and reinforcing the organization’s commitment to collaboration, accountability, and forward-thinking transit solutions across Jefferson County.

The newly appointed board members represent the Cities of Birmingham, Homewood, and Hoover and bring diverse expertise in public service, policy, and community leadership.

Patricia Todd

City of Homewood

City of Hoover

Walter Jones

Ken King

“These appointments reflect the continued partnership between BJCTA and our municipal stakeholders,” said Executive Director & CEO, Charlotte Shaw. “Each of these leaders brings valuable perspective and experience that will help guide BJCTA as we continue to enhance mobility, equity, and access for the communities we serve.”

BJCTA MAX Transit’s Board of Directors plays a critical role in governance, policy oversight, and strategic direction, ensuring the Authority remains responsive to the evolving transportation needs of the Birmingham metropolitan area.
