MAX Transit Breaks Ground On New CNG Facility

June 25 marked an exciting milestone for MAX Transit and the future of public transportation in Birmingham and Jefferson County.

MAX Transit, gathered with community members, stakeholders and project partners in Forestdale to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fueling station.

Held at 973 Forestdale Blvd., the ceremony marked the beginning of a project that represents a significant investment in cleaner energy, sustainable transportation and the future of transit in our region.

Investing in a Cleaner Future

Supported by a Low or No Emission and Bus and Bus Facilities Grant, the new CNG fueling station will help MAX Transit expand its use of cleaner transportation technology while strengthening the infrastructure needed to support reliable transit service.

CNG will help reduce harmful emissions and support efforts to improve local air quality, contributing to a cleaner and healthier community.
