The individual involved rode a MAX bus to the Jefferson State campus. The Jefferson State Community College campus law enforcement responded and further investigation into the incident is being conducted by law enforcement officers. Change will be implemented on June 3, 2019.Birmingham, AL (May 3, 2019) – Beginning Monday, June 3rd the Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority Customer Care Center will open later Monday through Saturday and close one hour earlier on Saturday in the Fixed Route Center. The Paratransit Center will only open for five hours on Sunday. These changes were based on data collected which show a limited call pattern before 5:30 AM and after 8 PM.  BIRMINGHAM-JEFFERSON COUNTY TRANSIT AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES SUCCESSFUL NATIONAL GET ON BOARD DAY Birmingham, AL (April 30, 2019) – Last Thursday, April 25th, transit systems across the country, including the Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority, celebrated “National Get On Board Day.” The day is set aside by the American Public Transportation Association to commemorate the value and benefit of public transportation to communities.  To encourage new riders to use public transit through the MAX system and to thank current riders, all fares were waived on April 25th.  This led to an increase of 7.6% in BJCTASEE DETAILS <span class="more-link-hover-i...
