The Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA) MAX Transit presents the 2nd Diverse Business Expo on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at the Double Tree Hotel by Hilton Birmingham, located at 808 South 20th Street, Birmingham, AL 35205.
Headlining the one-day event will be history-making game changer Nzinga Shaw, Senior Vice President, Community and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer for the Atlanta Hawks. Shaw made history as the NBA’s 1st Chief Diversity Officer in the United States. She will deliver the Keynote Address at the luncheon.
This event will highlight small business best practices and how to conduct business internally and externally. This Conference is designed to identify procurement and contracting opportunities for small and diverse businesses.

Nzinga Shaw
Nzinga Shaw is the first Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer at the Atlanta Hawks & Philips Arena with the National Basketball Association (NBA). Shaw has been at the forefront of leading organizational change through diversity. As the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer at the Atlanta Hawks & Philips Arena, Nzinga Shaw is responsible for developing and embedding diversity and inclusion best practices throughout the organization. She has designed a strategic, cross-departmental program that creates deeper cultural awareness and sensitivity. Shaw is developing strategies to embed diversity and inclusion in all programmatic activity, governance and daily administration of the organization. She is focused on building a foundation that will advance these strategies as a core component of the Atlanta Hawks & Philips Arena brand, and to drive the business. This initiative extends to fans, customers and community partners within the workforce.
