The Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA) has been recognized as an Outstanding Public Transportation System by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) as part of the prestigious 2024 APTA Awards. This accolade is a testament to the BJCTA’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and community service, solidifying its role as a vital connector in the Birmingham area.The 2024 APTA Honors Awards celebrated 13 organizations and leaders across North America for their vision and leadership in the public transportation sector. In addition to the organization awards, APTA will induct three new members into its Hall of Fame, honoring those whose contributions have significantly advanced public transportation.
