MAX Explore: Take BJCTA to These June Events
Got summer plans? BJCTA has several modes of transportation available to get to events happening in Jefferson County this month. Here’s how you can get to the fun:
Headed to the Iron City Comic Con May 31-June 1? Cosplay as your favorite character, park at Central Station for free and catch the Magic City Connector directly at the BJCC.
Use MAX On-Demand to get to the Birmingham Zoo for Zoo Brews on June 6 starting at 6 pm. Over 20 breweries will be on hand from across the Southeast for tastings.
Enjoy tunes from Anthony Hamilton, Robert Glasper, Eric Benet and more at the Steel City Jazz Festival June 6-8 at Linn Park by hopping on the Magic City Connector or routes 20, 23 or 40. All routes leave from Central Station, so you have access to free parking.
Park at Central Station and ride to Rickwood Field to commemorate the life of Willie Mays for the East-West Classic featuring MLB legends playing a five-inning game on Juneteenth (Thursday, June 19).
Take route 6 from Central Station to the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute for its Freedom Day celebration also on Juneteenth. Enjoy free admission to the museum as well as a host of other activities throughout the day.
