Disadvantage Business Enterprise Participation

MAX agrees to ensure that Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE), as defined in 49 CFR, Part 26, have the maximum opportunity to participate in contracts and subcontracts financed in whole or in part with Federal Funds. In this regard, the Authority or its contractors shall take all necessary and reasonable steps in accordance with 49 CFR, Part 26 to ensure that DBE’s shall have the maximum opportunity to compete and perform contracts. The Authority and its contractors will not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin, age or sex in the award and performance of contracts.Locally, MAX accepts DBE certifications through the Alabama Department of Transportation. In addition, MAX will accept DBE certifications from any other Unified Certification Program (UCP) or DOT recipient from another state that follow the certifications procedures in strict conformance with 49 CFR Part 26.
