BJCTA MAX Manager of Compliance selected as TCRP Ambassador

Birmingham, AL – January 8, 2025 –Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority Manager of Compliance, Mikesha T. Harvill recently visited the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) headquarters in Arlington, VA as a part of her selection as a member of the 2025-2027 Transit Cooperative Research Program’s (TCRP) Ambassador cohort.

As a part of her duties, Harvill will commit to participating in events and visiting transit authorities to educate them about solution-based research that TCRP conducts.

She will also serve as a liaison between TCRP, its research community, transportation properties and TCRP member organizations.

“I am excited and honored to be selected as an ambassador for this incredible program,” Harvill said. “This opportunity allows the chance for me to connect with transit peers while educating them about the many resources the Transit Cooperative Research Program offers. In addition to building my knowledge and experience in the public transit industry, which is my passion.”

The ambassador program began in 1998 as a partnership between COMTO, TCRP, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and the American Public Transportation Association (APTA).

Ambassadors are chosen by a selection committee comprised of members from all four organizations.
