BJCTA Announces Recent Staff Promotions

The Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA) is pleased to announce two recent staff promotions in the Capitol, Planning & Project Delivery department that underscore our commitment to fostering leadership and innovation within its team.

Jennifer Maiden Promoted to Project Manager

Jennifer Maiden, who joined MAX Transit just over a year ago as a Business Analyst, has been promoted to Project Manager. With over 15 years of experience in software quality assurance, configurations, and project management methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile, Maiden brings a wealth of expertise to her new role. Her proven track record in managing complex projects and ensuring high-quality outcomes positions her as an invaluable asset to BJCTA. As Project Manager, Maiden will oversee critical initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and advancing the authority’s strategic goals.

Shana Thompson Elevated to Senior Capital Project Manager

Shana Thompson, a seasoned professional with nearly 25 years of experience, has been promoted from Capital Project Manager to Senior Capital Project Manager. Thompson has spent nearly 15 years dedicated to public transit, contributing her expertise in project programming and management. Her leadership in overseeing capital projects has been instrumental in driving infrastructure improvements that benefit the community. In her new role, Thompson will take on expanded responsibilities, ensuring the successful execution of major projects that align with BJCTA’s vision for sustainable and reliable transit services.
