BJCTA Hires Amanda Hare as Marketing & Communications Manager  

Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA) hired Amanda Hare to serve as the agency’s Marketing & Communications Manager, effective April 29, 2024. In this role, she will be responsible for The Authority’s marketing, advertising, communications, and enhancing community engagement.

“Amanda brings an impressive background in marketing and public relations, insights and skills that are invaluable assets that will undoubtedly elevate our work to new heights.,” Charlotte Shaw, BJCTA’s Chief Executive Officer, stated. “She will be a welcomed addition to a great team, and I look forward to the amazing expertise she will bring to the agency.”

Hare most recently served as Director of Marketing & Public Relations for Vulcan Park Foundation, the non-profit organization entrusted by the City of Birmingham to oversee Vulcan Park & Museum, where she led the ongoing enhancement of the Vulcan brand. She has worked for over 10 years in marketing, including industries such as tourism, non-profit, and higher education. Hare has also managed her own public relations agency, AmandatoryPR, for over 7 years. Hare has led several revenue-generating campaigns, including creating and implementing Vulcan Park Foundation’s ‘Stand with Vulcan’ license plate and launching Vulcan’s online gift shop.

Hare earned a master’s degree in strategic communication from Troy University and a baccalaureate degree from The University of Southern Mississippi. She serves on various professional boards and committees, including the board of directors for the Central Alabama Hospitality Attractions and Business Association (CAHABA). She is also a Birmingham Chapter of Executive Women International (EWI) member.
