MAX Volunteer Program MVP

MAX needs YOU! The Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority volunteers of the World Games 2022 And Birmingham Rapid Transit will serve a vital role in ensuring our riders have a world class transportation Experience. As the transportation leader in Central Alabama, we always strive for excellence. Volunteering your time is an incredible way to experience the heartbeat of our work. Whether you are an individual, team, or student interested in service hours; we have ways for you to get involved.

Individual Volunteer

  • Commit to a minimum hour requirement as a volunteer. Shifts are typically 4-6 hours in length
  • You can serve multiple shifts per day(s), by selecting a shift option in the volunteer application below.
  • Must attend training leading up to the World Games and BRT implementation, please click the FAQ tab for more information
  • Must be 18 years old by July 1, 2022

  • How do I sign up to volunteer?
    Fill out the volunteer application at the bottom of this page.

  • Where can I find volunteer information details?
    Information can be found under the volunteer link tabs

  • What is the timeframe?
    Volunteers will begin approximately July 05 and end on July 17th (dates will be determined soon).World Games Volunteers will begin approximately July 05 and end on July 17.

  • How do I choose a volunteer shift?
    Volunteers can sign up by selecting a shift at the bottom of the page under “MAX World Games Volunteer Dates and Times”,

  • What are the training dates?
    Training will be held sometime between June 13th-June 30th, 2022. will be You will be notified by email or phone of the exact dates.

  • Will I have to complete a background check?
    No, volunteers are not required to complete a background check

  • How many hours will I be required to serve?
    Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum four-hour requirement. This is not mandatory. Shifts are typically 4-6 hours in length. You can serve multiple shifts per day or just one shift per day.

  • Can I volunteer even if I do not live in Birmingham USA?
    Yes, we welcome volunteers from all over the world to join us. We will offer training to all volunteers.

  • What type of Training is expected? 
    Every volunteer will complete customer service and route training to prepare them to serve during the BRT implementation and World Games.
